Advantage Multi

Active ingredients:
Imidacloprid and Moxidectin

 Administration:
Spot on (monthly)		 Treats:
Fleas (adult), roundworms, hookworms, lungworm and ear mites. Heartworm
preventative. Does not treat tapeworm.

Minimum age/pregnant
etc:9 weeks old. Safe use on
pregnant and lactating females has not
been established.

Aristopet

Active ingredients:

Praziquantel and Pyrantel embolate

 Administration:
Tablets-every 3 months		 Treats: Roundworm, hookworm, and tapeworm.

Minimum age/pregnant
etc:6 weeks old. Can use on pregnant and
lactating females.

Beaphar

Active ingredients:
Piperazine citrate

 

 Administration:
Syrup, cream, granules-every 2-3 months		 Treats: Roundworms.


Minimum age/pregnant etc:2 weeks old. Can use on lactating
females.

Centragard

Active ingredients:
Eprinomectin and praziquantel

 Administration: Topical monthly Treats: Roundworm,

been tested on pregnant or lactating queens.

Purina Total Care

etc: 6 weeks old. Can use on pregnant and
lactating cats.

Revolution

Active ingredients:
Selamectin

 

 Administration:

Fleas (adult, larvae, and eggs), intestinal worms (except
tapeworm), lungworm and ear mites.
Heartworm preventative. Does not treat tapeworm.

Minimum age/pregnant
etc:6 weeks old. Can use on pregnant and
lactating females.

Safety

Please speak to your veterinarian about when to de-worm young kittens and which product is best. Kittens should be wormed from
two weeks of age, however not all worming products are suitable for use on kittens so young.

Heartworm medications do not kill adult heartworms, they are used as a preventative medication to kill larval heartworms
only. Consult veterinary advice before beginning heartworm medications or if you have missed more than one dose.

All medications have the potential to cause side effects. Most are mild and self-limiting such as nausea and loss of
appetite. If you notice your cat is unwell after being dewormed, please seek the advice of your veterinarian.

Not all anti-parasitic medications treat all parasites (the most common being fleas and worms), so it is important to make
sure all common parasites are covered which usually means the use of two products. Speak to your veterinarian to make sure the products you are using are safe to use in conjunction.

Never use anti-parasitic products for dogs on your cat. Most contain toxic active ingredients.
